S2 Episode 10: Black Portrayal in the Media & a Coronavirus Social-Check in

The way Black people have been portrayed in the Media has not only been detrimental to the way other races view us, but also how we view ourselves. While our accomplishments are sometimes broadcasted, more often than not, there are attempts to defame us and how we operate as a whole. This week, we not only dive into the tactics used but also how that makes us feel & how we overcome this.

This weeks self-work (homework) assignment:

Think about how the media has impacted your life personally. Do you think that others would label you as a “stereotypical” character? Would you label others as having a “stereotypical” character? Now, reflect on your interactions with them. How do you relate to one another? Does it reflect that of what would be seen in a television series or movie?
